PACKAGING
In packaging design, the primary challenge is ensuring form follows function, a task I embrace with enthusiasm. The next critical challenge is integrating sustainability into the design. My goal is to collaborate with you to create packaging that not only protects your product and stands out on the shelf but also supports environmental responsibility.
From the initial concept to the final product, I work closely with clients to understand their products, goals, and industry-specific requirements. This comprehensive approach allows me to design and source packaging materials that are not just aesthetically pleasing but also functional and eco-friendly. The ultimate reward is seeing a finished product that is not only visually stunning but also effective, sustainable, and commercially successful.
Verdant Formulas
Verdant Formulas sought a brand identity as pure and straightforward as their products. They envisioned a clean and minimalistic design to echo their commitment to simple, high-quality ingredients—coconut or hemp oils paired with meticulously extracted hemp CBD isolate. I had the opportunity to guide their brand through every stage of development, from conceptualization to final packaging. This included crafting their website, designing print advertisements, creating email templates, and developing promotional materials and wholesale print collateral. Each element was carefully designed to reflect Verdant Formulas' dedication to purity and simplicity.
Kelly Quan Cosmetics
For the Package Design Magazine’s 2014 Makeover Challenge, I had the exciting opportunity to represent Envision Creative Group by revamping the packaging for Kelley Quan, a premium line of vegan makeup brushes. Our goal was to blend earthy charm with refined elegance. We crafted a prototype that combined a velvety texture and rich color with a sleek, natural wood base, resulting in packaging that’s both sophisticated and down-to-earth—a perfect fit for the eco-conscious connoisseur.
I led the design, sourcing, and execution of this project with strong support from Envision Creative Group. Thanks to a successful campaign and votes from both the online community and Package Expo International, Envision proudly won the 2014 Makeover Challenge.

Area 420
Area 420 Cannabis Company wanted their packaging to reflect their "out of this world" approach to cannabis. They aimed for a trippy design that stayed within the bounds of state regulations, which restrict the use of cartoon characters for cannabis promotion. To meet this challenge, I utilized negative space to subtly incorporate an iconic alien head, surrounded by elements like flower, smoke, and extract. This design approach effectively conveys their extraterrestrial theme while emphasizing their stellar products in a compliant and visually engaging way.
Full Melt
Verdant Formulas' beauty line blends essential oils with CBD to elevate your bathing experience. To capture the essence of their botanical ingredients, I designed a floral-inspired aesthetic featuring muted colors that evoke the calming effects of CBD and bath products. In addition to the thoughtful design, I sourced sustainable, hemp-based packaging materials to align with their commitment to eco-friendliness and enhance the overall serene experience.
Wizard's Brew
Introducing Wizard’s Brew: a revolutionary solution for combating indoor plant and crop pests with the natural power of essential oils and soap. Designed specifically for cannabis growers, this eco-friendly formula boasts a minimal ingredient list and can be safely used up until harvest time. It’s an effective, non-toxic alternative that respects the environment while ensuring your plants stay healthy and pest-free.
For this project, I developed a complete branding and marketing strategy, including eye-catching packaging, engaging print ads, and comprehensive marketing collateral such as promo boxes, informational booklets, and brochures. Additionally, I crafted dynamic digital ads and social media campaigns. The goal was to create a vibrant, approachable brand identity that emphasizes the product’s environmental friendliness and all-natural composition, proving that “pesticide” doesn’t have to be a dirty word.
